08.05.2017 | EURODIS: International shipments grow at eleven percent

EURODIS, operating an international transport network for parcels and pallets covering 36 European countries, has increased the number of dispatched shipments at a rate of eleven percent in 2016.

„Our core business of B2B-transports has significantly increased, but the highest growth came from B2C-transports“, says Christian Knoblich, Managing Director of EURODIS GmbH in Weinheim (Germany). „In 2015 we had deliberately decided to open our system to B2C-shipments. Meanwhile 15 percent of all our transport volume is delivered to private homes.“

Launching B2C-services for EURODIS meant a natural consequence of their combi-freight strategy. Adds Knoblich: „Shippers have lost dispatch flexibility through the increased standardisation of transport. Our aim is to return flexibility to them.” Through the joint transport of parcels and pallets in one network combi-freight allows for organising nearly all shipments in a sole pick-up or delivery independent from size or weight. “This means huge advantages for shippers as well as consignees. And through one stop shopping for B2B- and B2C-shipments we even increased flexibility and ease of use.” For the first time EURODIS is presenting the approach of its European combi-freight network on “transport logistic” in Munich. The leading international exhibition takes place from May 9 until 12, 2017. EURODIS will be present at hall B4, booth 124.

Expansion of network in 2016 und 2017

In 2016 EURODIS expanded the international network through integration of two more members. With M&BM Express Bulgaria was added and with FAN Courier EURODIS covered Romania. Both companies belong to the leading express companies in their respective countries. „In 2017 last year`s expansion will significantly add more shipments to our volume. This is one reason, why I am again expecting a growth rate above-average“, Knoblich says. „Moreover, we are planning to strengthen our presence in two more countries in the second half of this year.“
