Key player on Italy’s CEP-market concludes cooperation contract with leading European network for parcels and pallets – operative start of the collaboration in February 2012.

EURODIS, the European distribution network for the transport of goods in parcel or pallet shipments (combi-freight), has gained a new strategic member in Italy. SDA Express Courier S.p.A. the parcel and express subsidiary of Poste Italiane Group will start the collaboration with the other EURODIS members from February 2012. The cooperation contract was signed in October by the EURODIS managing director Carsten Siebe and SDA CEO and General Manager Valter Catoni in Rome.

“The entry of SDA into the EURODIS network is a further, important step in our strategy to create a Europe-wide comprehensive cooperation of strong partners”, explains Peter Umundum, board member parcel & logistic of the Austrian Post and chairman of the EURODIS GmbH. Umundum is convinced: “that the EURODIS network enables the involved members to extend their market position in the growing international transport sector sustainably“. Amongst the Austrian Post and its other subsidiaries in South-East Europe the Spanish Redur, the German trans-o-flex, the French Sernam and the British UK Mail are already members of EURODIS . Every additional member therefore strengthens the network which is already operating in 34 countries.

“Italy is the fourth largest transport market in Europe“, says EURODIS managing director Siebe. “The fact that we were able to gain the membership of one of the key player in the Italian CEP-market means a further great progress for the long-term development of our network. With SDA we now hold powerful strategic partnerships in all European core markets”.
